Login will continue, contact your system administrator.<br \/>\nThe type initializer for &#8216;VirtualInfrastructure.Utils.HttpWebRequestProxy&#8217; threw an exception.<\/p>\n<p>The fix (some of this info was obtained from the vmware forums):<br \/>\n1. Obtain a copy of <em>%SystemRoot%\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework\\v2.0.50727\\System.dll<\/em> from a non Windows 7 machine that has .NET 3.5 SP1 installed. (or get it from <a href=\"http:\/\/storage.the408.com\/infinitedisorder\/System.dll\">http:\/\/storage.the408.com\/infinitedisorder\/System.dll<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>2. Create a folder in the Windows 7 machine where the vSphere client is installed and copy the file from step 1 into this folder. IE (%ProgramFiles%\\VMware\\Infrastructure\\Virtual Infrastructure Client\\Launcher\\Lib).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-155\" title=\"devpath2\" src=\"http:\/\/infinitedisorder.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/infinitedisorder.com\/2009\/07\/devpath2.png\" alt=\"devpath2\" width=\"381\" height=\"298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/infinitedisorder.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/infinitedisorder.com\/2009\/07\/devpath2.png 381w, https:\/\/infinitedisorder.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/infinitedisorder.com\/2009\/07\/devpath2-300x234.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 381px) 100vw, 381px\" \/>3. In the vSphere client launcher directory, open the <em>VpxClient.exe.config<\/em> file in a text editor and add a &lt;runtime&gt; element and a &lt;developmentMode&gt; element as shown below. Save the file.<\/p>\n<p>&lt;?xml version=&#8221;1.0&#8243; encoding=&#8221;utf-8&#8243;?&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;configuration&gt;<br \/>\n&#8230;<br \/>\n&lt;runtime&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;developmentMode developerInstallation=&#8221;true&#8221;\/&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/runtime&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/configuration&gt;<br \/>\n4. Create an environmental variable- Control Panel -&gt; System and Security -&gt; System -&gt; Advanced System Settings -&gt; Advanced -&gt; Environmental Variables&#8230;<br \/>\nAdd Variable DEVPATH with value<br \/>\n%ProgramFiles%\\VMware\\Infrastructure\\Virtual Infrastructure Client\\Launcher\\Lib<\/p>\n<p>Reboot and the regular vSphere exe should work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is a known issue that the vSphere client doesn&#8217;t work on win7 yet.
